DELTA GEMS
Delta GEMS (Growing & Empowering Myself Successfully), is an expansion and continuation of the highly successful Dr. Betty Shabazz Delta Academy. Delta GEMS was created to catch the dreams of African American adolescent high school girls ages 14-18.
The Delta GEMS goals are: to instill the need to excel academically; to provide tools to enable girls to sharpen and enhance their skills to achieve high levels of academic success; to assist girls in proper goal setting and planning for their futures in high school and beyond; and to create compassionate, caring, and community-minded young women by actively involving them in service learning and community service opportunities. The Delta GEMS framework is designed to provide specific skills that develop a CAN DO attitude through interactive lessons and activities that provide opportunities for self-reflection and growth.
The Delta GEMS team is excited for you all to apply and participate in this year’s programming! We are also excited to be back IN-PERSON for this program year! We will continue to have safety protocols in place to mitigate the spread of COVID-19.
Please complete the application in full by October 8, 2023. Be sure to complete a separate application for each participating young lady.

The Cincinnati Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. offers the Delta GEMS program free of charge to the community. As a result, we unfortunately must limit the number of participants in accordance with chapter and national policies. Thank you for your submission, you will be notified of the status of your application shortly after the close of the process.
